Cyber Security Game

Cyber Security Game

This Friday, January 28, our Parisian and Swiss security teams organized a morning dedicated to corporate training and cyber security issues.

This event was an opportunity to present our new cyber security awareness solution to an audience of security and information systems managers. Positive Thinking Company already provides a complete portfolio of security services and solutions, and is now extending its range with the Security Game experience, a security awareness training program based on immersive gaming and innovative technology.

More than a traditional training program, this is a serious game developed by Positive Thinking Company and Epekina, based on virtual reality and the escape game concept.

The interactive, immersive and gamified approach of the Security Game

The Security Game experience redefines the format of traditional cyber security training by addressing current cyber challenges such as physical security, social engineering, password security and viruses and their effects through games. It is divided into three consecutive phases:

The Security Game is based on the principle of active learning that personally engages each learner and makes him/her an actor of his/her own training. As the saying goes, you learn by doing!

Unlike traditional pedagogy, which starts with theory and moves towards practice, the Security Game places practice as the starting point. Realistic situations where employees take the position of attackers encourage investigation, understanding and knowledge of the different resources the game provides.

A winning bet for this morning dedicated to cyber security

Renaud De Bary, Senior Business Manager in charge of cyber security in Paris, gives his impressions of this first event:

“This morning was a great opportunity to highlight Positive Thinking Company’s in-house innovations to key decision-makers in the cyber security and awareness domains (CISOs or Governance Managers).

The event also allowed us to identify their short-term challenges, and in particular their training needs. All coming from different industries and sectors, the participants did not know each other beforehand. The breakfast changed all that! These discussions were an introduction to the explanations and demonstration of the serious game.

The participants were able to try out the Virtual Reality experience, which was followed by a discussion. Collecting this feedback is important for the continuous improvement of our solution.

In a second phase, the participants experienced the Escape Game. The scenario included theft of sensitive information and social engineering. The simulation, meant to be 100% immersive, allowed the participants to grasp concrete problems: theft of customer files, remote access, and control of computers, etc.

We are thrilled by this first success: we plan to organize a second session very soon.”
